Anaïs Gailhbaud

Conservator specializing in sculptures and composite objects and a consultant in preventive conservation.

She graduated from the Ecole du Louvre and the Institut National du Patrimoine-spécialité sculptures. As such, she is authorized to work for museums bearing the “Musées de France” label. She graduated with a Master 2 Heritage Preventive Conservation, from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

She has been working independently since 2007 for museums, research centers in France and abroad, historical monuments, local authorities, and collectors.

She has also been a position at the Museum of Ethnography of the University of Bordeaux 2, the Smithsonian Institute, the Haiti Cultural Recovery Center (Port-au-Prince, Haiti), and the Oriental Museum (Doha, Qatar) as a conservator in charge of the collections of decorative arts and sculptures.

She has specialized since 2006 in the processing of three-dimensional works and mixed-media collections, which leads her to collaborate with conservators of other specialties regularly.

This versatility and his taste for teamwork led him to develop his expertise in preventive conservation. It provides state findings, preliminary studies, preventive conservation, conservation-restoration, preparation for transport and exhibition, documentation of works, and assistance to project management.

She is a member of ICOM (International Council of Museums), the FFCR (French Federation of Curators-Restorers), and APREVU (Association of University-Training Preventives).

She performs her services on-site, in France and abroad, as well as in a secure workshop in Paris.

She publishes the Horus Condition Report application, a tool for editing condition reports on smartphones and tablets. More info:
